Experiment with: ink washes; wax as a resist; and working with bleach over

Ink washes:
Brushing and tripping ink on dry paper and wet paper. Also diluting with water.

Wax resist:
Drawing with solid and melted wax. Also brushing ink over the top.

Ink and bleach:
Brush ink on to the paper allowing it to dry then draw back into the inked areas with bleach. The bleach can also be diluted with water.

HEALTH&SAFETY

Bleach:

- Always use bleach in a well ventilated area
- Transfer only a small amount of bleach into a pot to use to minimise fumes
- Do not get bleach on clothing - it will remove colour and can also cause the fabric to 'rot'
- If bleach splashes onto skin or clothing - dilute immediately with cold water

Hot Wax:

- Do not let hot wax drip onto skin - if it does run under cold water for a few minutes.
- Place wax pot on a stable surface - do not move until completely cold.
